Why is losing your weight now so important?
America is the fattest it has ever been. In Michigan our adult obesity rate has climbed from 22.1% in 2001 to 30.7% in 2015. Nationally more than 30% of adults, 17% of 2-19 year olds, and more than 8% of children 2-5 are obese. More than 6% of adults are severely obese, and more than 5% of children are severely obese by the ages of 6-11.
America is in a health crisis overweight and obesity increase the risk of many health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers. If you are pregnant, excess weight may lead to short- and long-term health problems for you and your child.
Here are just some of the conditions that are commonly linked to excess weight.

- Osteoarthritis of Joints (Back, hip, knee, ankles etc.)

Gaining a few pounds during the year may not seem like a big deal. But these pounds can add up over time. The weight takes a huge toll on all of our bodies systems.
An often overlooked result of being overweight.
Not only does being overweight affect your organs it affects your Musculoskeletal system. 7 out of 10 Americans are overweight. It is the most predominate health problem in the US. In addition, most overweight people have structural problems because of the extra pressure on their spine and joints.
This picture shows what a simple 20 excess pounds can do to your body. When you are overweight you know that your back, knees, and feet hurt. But, you forget that you are doing actual damage to your structure.
Your body was not made to carry all that weight. It damages not only the ligaments and tendons, but the actual structural integrity of your body. Your frame.
Think about your frame in terms of building a house. Most of us have been past construction sites. We’ve seen the frames of the building that are being built around us. Just drive through any housing development and look at the wood frames that are popping up around you. When you see them you can guess what kind of house they are building just by looking at them.
I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t dream of trying to build a skyscraper on that wood frame. Unfortunately, that is what many of us are doing to our bodies. I’m guilty of it myself. I know when I’m over working my body. I can feel it when my tendons and ligaments are weak. My arches fall, my knees hurt, my hips pop these are all signs that my bodies frame has shifted and needs to be put back where it belongs.
